Kofman Campership/Children’s Fund. This fund allows religious school students to attend Jewish day or summer camps, continue their Jewish education, study in Israel, and develop an enthusiasm about their heritage with other Jewish students.

This fund is used to assist the temple in providing the highest quality Adult Education, including Scholar-in-Residence and guest lectures.

The capital/building fund is in place to ensure that the TI facilities are kept up-to-date and in good repair. Funds go towards paying for repairs, maintenance, upgrades, and remodels.

Early Childhood Development  Fund.

 This fund provides money for donations to the Alameda Choir in appreciation of their HHD performances as well as money for the HHD cellist and other music activities to include enhancing the quality of the HHD choir by hiring trained singers.

 This fund is used to purchase books, furnishings, and materials for the TI Library.

 This fund is used to purchase food for Onegs that are not sponsored. This fund also is used to purchase challah, Shabbat candles, and wine for services.

 Temple Israel’s Operation Budget. These funds help pay salaries, provide programs and religious services, buy office supplies, pay the utilities, and keep the doors open. In addition contributions to this fund help pay dues for congregants who are unemployed, underemployed, ill, or living on limited incomes.

To provide long term financial support of Temple Israel through bequests, life insurance, trusts, and endowments. These funds provide financial help for specific programs to ensure that Temple Israel will be part of the Alameda community for your children and their children.

Gretel & Gunther Gates Memorial Fund.  This fund is an annual, theme driven curriculum for Temple Israel of Alameda that addresses contemporary social issues, raises social consciousness, creates community dialogue and, ultimately, actualizes the mitzvah of Tikkun Olam (The repair of our world).
